  • Tea Talk: Ritual and Refinement in Early New England Parlors
“Thank God for tea!” wrote the British clergyman and essayist Reverend Sydney Smith—one of many to pay impassioned tribute to the world’s most popular infusion. Tea and tea drinking arrived in New England by the late 17th century, a time of burgeoning trade and expansion of the British Empire. This exhibition will feature ceramics, furniture, prints, glass, and pewter from Historic Deerfield’s collection. On view through February 16, 2014 at the Flynt Center of Early New England Life - Lobby.
