- Tea Talk: Ritual and Refinement in Early New England Parlors
“Thank God for tea!” wrote the British clergyman and essayist Reverend Sydney Smith—one of many to pay impassioned tribute to the world’s most popular infusion. Tea and tea drinking arrived in New England by the late 17th century, a time of burgeoning trade and expansion of the British Empire. This exhibition will feature ceramics, furniture, prints, glass, and pewter from Historic Deerfield’s collection. On view through February 16, 2014 at the Flynt Center of Early New England Life - Lobby.

- Three Bags Full: All About Wool
Every Saturday and Sunday May 4 through June 30, 2013. From Colonial times to the present, spring has been the season for shearing sheep. The first step in this process is washing the wool, followed by: picking, carding, spinning and dyeing. Visitors can participate in many of these steps and make a project to take home. - Open Hearth Cooking Demonstration: Spring Brings Fresh Food
Experience the sights, sounds, and aromas of hearth cooking while learning about colonial foods and diet.This month we feature ingredientsthat were in season and abundant like fresh eggs and milk, and seasonal produce like asparagus and berries.
